EQUIPMENT TO TEST
STEEL WIRE
ROPES
with
MAGNETIC NON-DESTRUCTIVE
METHOD
We are manufacturring unique instruments to test wire ropes. The instrument's operation is based on a world renowned magnetic method developed by the The method and our instruments are recognised in many countries across the world, in application areas such as inspection of hoisting ropes in deep mines, inspection of ropeways and inspection of wire ropes in lifting equipment.
Presently,
the method is based on magnetisation of the rope longitudinally with
permanent
magnets and detection of rope anomalies by magnetic sensors. Local
fault LF or
local defect LD type discontinuity in the wire rope, such as broken
wire or
corrosion pit creates radial magnetic flux leakage and LF/LD sensor
detects it
as the rope passes the head. Loss of metallic area LMA sensor measures
total
axial magnetic flux around the wire rope. This signal is proportional
to the
volume of steel and the change in steel cross-sectional area. It
provides
information about loss of steel due to missing wire, continuous
corrosion or
abrasion.
